Fighting Stigma Is My Super Power..
My Name is Nikita Banks, CEO and owner of Muti-media mental wellness brand, Proactive Wellness. I am a licensed therapist in multiple states of New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida. My niche is providing mental wellness solutions for women of color who want to have it all. But I provide therapy service across any and all populations.
I’ve built my career on defying the odds. Doing things I was told wasn’t possible and I use my know how to get my clients the results they desire.
I am a therapist who specializes in working with people of color. My journey to practitioner came from me being a patient and needing someone who understood my cultural experience and who could provide me with cultural competence. Once I got healthy and learned the necessary skills to battle my issues. I wanted to normalize that experience for other people of color. My goal is to educate people and remove the stigma, through my work.

It has always been my goal to provide culturally competent care is a way of providing therapy for clients who are members of marginalized communities that center their thoughts, feelings and emotions from the view point of their identity and how it impacts their mental well being. For people of color the disparities between the reality that some of us live and this ideal of the American dream can be a stark contrast and we owe it to ourselves to fight past the stigma and demand access to health care that sees us and acknowledges the impact of intergenerational trauma on our mental wellness journey.
And it up to us to make sure we make the country live up those ideals and the way to really do that is to make sure we are mentally prepared for the challenges life throws at us, and therapy should provide the opportunity and the safe space to do that, to gain the skillset and emotional language to master our thoughts feelings and emotions with the support of a professional that sees you as the authority of your journey.
As a therapist of color building my community was essential in getting the career that I desired. And I would love to help you along your journey. If you are a mental health professional looking to gain clinical knowledge in the field and build your caseload consider joining our team.
